This topic contains 4 parts. Parts 1 and 2 are instructions for installing the 2 different file types for The Sims 2 custom content, it also contains instructions for the 2 additional things you need to do if you have never used custom content before (3. Enabling custom content in your game, and 4. Installing the CEP files)
Sims 2 File Types
In my EA Games folder, I have a The Sims 2 folder and a The Sims 2 UC folder. The first folder only has two folders within it, named logs and teleport, and a group.cache file. The UC folder has all of the files which are normally found with TS2 installs.
Feb 05, 2009.
Maxis Match Repository – Its purpose is to take all Maxis based custom content for The Sims 2, cut the files down to minimal size, and make them blend seamlessly with your game files. Lots of great clothing for all ages and genders. MisoMoso Sims – Some of the best clothing I’ve ever seen for The Sims 2. Lots of stuff for male Sims, which.
I just downloaded the Sims 2 Ultimate Collection on Origin, and have looked around for where to put CC. I had no issues with this when I played the base game on disc as the EA folder was present, but now that I have the game through Origin, there is no EA Games folder for which to put the CC in.
Sims 2 Mac Download Folder Download
There are 2 different types of custom content files for The Sims 2 that we have here at Parsimonious:
package - usually furniture, walls, floors, terrains, clothing, genetics, make-up
sims2pack - usually houses, other sites may have complete Sims in a sims2pack
Sims2packs need to be installed differently from a package file, they must be executed/run rather than placed in the game's Downloads folder.
Please be aware that you should only be putting download files into your local content game folders - you are looking for a folder called EA Games located in your User folder or your My Documents directory.
You should NOT EVER be put downloads anywhere near your Program Files game folders unless the instructions for an item specifically tell you to
1. Installing Package Files
After unzipping the files you download put the package files into the game Downloads folder. Once they are in this folder you do not need to do anything else to them - just leave them alone!
If you do not have either of these folders just create them!
Please note that some users find that fashion files do not show up in the default 'Downloads' folder. If this happens to you then try putting them in the folder named SavedSims instead. Fashion items also cannot be read by the game if they are placed in subfolders unlike all other package files.
If you get this error it is because you have tried to 'install' a package file by double clicking on it. This causes the game sims2pack installer to pop-up the following error message.
So long as your package files are put in the right place, you can leave them alone.
2. Installing Sims2pack Files
After unzipping sims2pack files must be 'run' by double clicking on them. This will cause the game installer to handle them, putting the contents of the sims2pack file into your game for you. Follow the on-screen instructions and repeat for each sims2pack file.
There is, however, a problem with letting the game installer do this..
Sims 2 Mac Download Folder Icons
It does a really terrible job of dealing with any content in the sims2pack which is already in your game. Instead of just skipping any existing files, it'll create a new copy with a nonsense filename (making it hard to identify). Sometimes these copies are not even properly working, little bits can get lost along the way.
Don't worry, there is an alternative which is a little community made program called the Clean Pack Installer. It is a bit more technical, but it'll let you be in charge of your content and it's really easy to use once you know how!

If you are a house builder who likes to share your lots then it is important to be aware of this as the game often prefers to use these copies instead of the real thing! Mac cctv viewer software download. If you use a broken junk copy in a house and then export that house for sharing, it's the copy that gets included, not the original!
3. Enabling Custom Content
If you are using custom content for the first time in The Sims 2, have recently reinstalled your game, or have added a new Expansion or Stuff Pack then you will need to enable custom content:
Users with Nightlife or any later Expansion Pack
Run your game. When the Custom Content Dialog Box shown below appears, click the 'Enable Custom Content' Option shown
Exit and RESTART your game
When you start your game again, custom content should be enabled
Age of wushu pc. It doesn't matter whether or not you want the dialog box displayed & will not affect whether or not custom content will work in your game, so you can turn it off, but still have your content enabled.
This method should also apply with newer Stuff Packs and any Deluxe or Double Deluxe version, however if you have never had that box popping up when you start the game then please use the method below.
Users with The Sims 2 + University, or Sims 2 Only
Run your game. Enter any neighbourhood
On the corner options panel, choose the game options Tab (..). Choose the game options and look for the options shown in the picture below.
Change your settings so that Custom Content IS ENABLED*
Exit and RESTART your game
When you start your game again, custom content should be enabled)
You need to download this package if you want to use custom objects. You will need to reinstall it every time you reinstall The Sims 2 or add a new Expansion or Stuff Pack.
Please download one of the files below and unzip it. The Auto Installer version can be run by double clicking on the extracted file and following the on-screen instructions. The manual version comes with documentation, please read and follow the instructions included in the zip: Kaspersky for mac download crack.
For technical information for this package please visit the official ModTheSims CEP Thread:
You should be aware that Parsimonious did NOT create these files, they were created by Numenor & RGiles at Mod The Sims. Sadly both creators have retired from The Sims 2 community, so there is no longer any active support available for these files (in fact the official URL we are supposed to give you no longer exists!).
Please, respect my work: don't convert these for any other game (if you need something special, ask me), don't upload to any other site. Thanks! S'il vous plait, respectez mon travail: ne convertissez pas mes objets pour un autre jeu (si vous avez besoin de quelque chose, demandez-moi); ne redistribuez pas mes créations sur un autre site. Merci!

Downloads & Installation
How do I download and install?
To download a file, click on 'Download' button. For some clothes, there's several buttons: one per color. Move your mouse over the button to have a preview of the color, and click on the button to download. For PC: Unzip with WinZip or any other ZIP application and install the packages files in the folder: My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/Downloads If you haven't any 'Downloads' folder there, you can create it, but be sure to be at the right place: My Documents/EA Games/The Sims 2/, not C:/Programs files/EA Games/The Sims 2. If you want to download objects, you have also to download the Colour Enabler Package, made by Quaxi. Sims & houses are distributed in .sims2packages; for them, you just need to double-click on their icon, and they will install by themselves. For Mac: Unzip the files with or any other ZIP application, and install the packages in the folder: Users/'name of your folder'/Documents/EA GAmes/the Sims 2/Downloads/ If you don't have any 'Downloads' folder, create it. If you want to download objects, you have also to download the Colour Enabler Package, made by Quaxi.
Your clothes files have strange names.. What do they mean?
All my files begin by a first group of letters: 'ATS'. It means 'Around the Sims', so you know immediatly where the files come from. Then, the second group of letters is for the ages and the genders concerned, as well as they kind of clothes. The first letter is for gender: F for female M for male The second letter is for the age, with: P for toddler* C for child T for teen Y for young adult (University required) A for adult E for elder (*-I don't know why, but it's the letter used by Maxis, so I kept it too) The third letter is for the kind of clothing: N for normal F for formal L for lingerie P for pajamas S for swimming-suits & sport Sometimes, all those letters aren't needed (ex: ATS_eyeliner001) Let's take an example: ATS_FTN_pants001 means the file comes from Around the Sims, and that it's pants designed for a female teenager, in a normal outfit. Well, if it seems too confusing for you, don't worry, you don't have to know that. It's just explained if you want to understand my naming (and it can help you to find what you look for among my files).

Creation
How can I create my own content for the game?
You can create objects, walls and floors, clothes, characters, houses.. To create objects, you'll need: - a PC - SimPE: it's THE application for the Sims 2; it's free and made by the genius and generous Quaxi. - MeshWorks by MTS2 - a 3D application, like Milkshape, Carrara, or if you're rich enough 3DS Max or Maya. - a painting program like Photoshop, PaintShop.. To create clothes, hair, make-up, Sims, you'll need: - PC or Mac - the Sims 2 Bodyshop (installed with your game) - a painting program To create walls & floors, you'll need: - PC (I don't know if Aspyr has converted HomeCrafter yet) - the Sims 2 HomeCrafter Plus, by Maxis - a painting program To create houses, you'll need: - PC or Mac - just the game! :)

Terms of Use
What you can do with the downloaded files..
You can use them in your game, and play with them, of course. That's the essential point! ;) Objects You can recolor objects when it's notified they're recolorable (it's notified on the download page, in the description of the object) You can redistribute your recolor on your website and you can now redistribute the mesh as well (though old descriptions say you can't.. :), except of course, if this mesh is a donation item. You can't redistribute my meshes, if you don't offer recolors for them, neither proclaim they're your own creations. You can't recolor objects without the mention 'recolorable', nor imitate colors made for donators sets. Looks & Clothes You can use my genetics, make-up and clothes to create Sims (a credit link would be nice), and you can distribute your Sims on your site or at the Exchange, but you can't distribute the Sims I made, you can't neither modify them to make them yours, if you want to distribute the result of your rework (but you can do that for your personal use, of course). You can't modify nor recolor any of my clothes, genetics or make-up. Walls & Floors You can use them on houses you build and share at the Exchange or on your own web site (credit and link would be nice). You can't recolor, modify or redistribute those files as your own work. Houses You can't upload them at the Exchange, nor take them as base to modify if you want to distribute your work.

Sims 1
What's the Sims 1?
It's the first version of the game. It has been released in 2000, and you can still buy the game and its expansion packs. Many sites are still offering downloads (clothing, faces, objects, houses, wallpapers and floors). If you don't know it, it's worth the try! It's a treasure for decorators and builders as there's a huuuuge collection of users objects and skins. In addition, the Sims 1 have smaller files, and smaller system requirements, so it will certainly work on your machine! :)
Do you have a Sims 1 website?
Yes, since february 2001, and it's called Around the Sims. I'm still building new stuff for this game. Even with Sims 2, I don't think I'm going to give up my old Simmies like that! :)
